For centuries the ancient art of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage has been used as a powerful tool for maintaining a healthy way of life. The strokes are long and flowing, using forearms and elbows, and giving the feeling of many hands on the body at once. Each day you will learn new exercises and massage techniques designed to harness the power of the elements earth, air, water and fire. This massage is profoundly relaxing, creating a deep trance state to allow the receiver to identify and dissolve limiting beliefs that cause illness in the body. In this course you will
learn: In this exciting intensive retreat you will learn new techniques to expand your bodywork practice. Including advanced techniques, stretching and joint mobilization techniques, tandem work, side lying and more. Students who pass this course will recieve a certificate for CThA Approved Post Graduate Qualification. Please note this course is open only to existing massage therapists and is not suitable for those who have not completed at least level 3 massage training and anatomy. MapleLeaf Middlewick cottages Glastonbury, Somerset This is a residential retreat and tuition includes meals and shared or single accommodations in the cottages. Middlewick is in Glastonbury near the foot of the Tor and is accessible by bus from Bristol or Bath. Bristol airport is the closest airport and the Bristol Flyer will take you from the airport tot he bus terminal where you can get a bus to Glastonbury the trip takes 2-3 hours depending on wait time at the termial. We can collect students from town who arrive by bus. The closest train station is Castle Cary which is about a £25-30 cab ride to Midddlewick.
Residential students have access to a heated indoor pool to explore Waiola (aquatic bodywork) in the evenings and we will do optional group sweats in the steam room. You will also have access to a library of movies and books on the Hawaiian Culture and plenty of time to share and enjoy each others company in an Ohana (family) style setting. Residential students arrive between 4-5pm Friday November 2 and check into your room. Orientation from 6-7 will be followed by a welcome feast and class will run from 10am-5pm daily Saturday November 3rd through Thursday November 8th. Evenings are open for practice and time in the Sauna and pool or relax in your cottage. We end with breakfast and a closing circle on Friday November 9th check out of the cottages is at 10am. There are also 4 spaces open to commuting students who live locally and only attend class daily. Price includes welcome dinner November 2nd and lunch during class Saturday-Thursday. Due to the regulations of the Middlewick cottages, commuting students will only be allowed to attend the daily workshop from 10am-5pm, and will not have access to the other facilities, sorry. There are 12 residential and 4 commuter spaces available.
