For centuries the ancient art of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage has been used as a powerful tool for maintaining a healthy way of life. The strokes are long and flowing, using forearms and elbows, and giving the feeling of many hands on the body at once. Each day you will learn new exercises and massage techniques designed to harness the power of the elements earth, air, water and fire. This massage is profoundly relaxing, creating a deep trance state to allow the receiver to identify and dissolve limiting beliefs that cause illness in the body. In these classes you will
learn: Please wear loose comfortable clothing, preferably something sleeveless that you don’t mind getting oil on. Please bring a blanket for meditation, oil, sheets, an open mind and an open heart and be ready to have fun. Courses are offered over 4 consecutive days. Space is limited so register early. Hold your space with a non-refundable £100 deposit. Students who pass this course will recieve a certificate for CThA Approved Post Graduate Qualification of 20 CPD Points.

Including advanced techniques, more stretching and joint mobilization techniques, tandem work, side lying and more. The advanced course is open to prior students and graduates of the March 20-23 2010 basic class. Returning Students pay only £225. Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage 4-Day Residential Intensive April 17-21 2010
MapleLeaf Middlewick cottages Glastonbury, Somerset This is a residential retreat and tuition includes meals and shared or single accommodations in the cottages. There is space left for only 2 more residential students. There is also 1 space open for local students who will commute daily to class which runs 10am-5:30pm daily Sunday April 18 through Wednesday April 21 and includes lunch. Residential students arrive between 4-6pm Saturday April 17 and get settled in. We begin with welcome dinner at 6:30 and circle to follow.
Residential students have access to a heated indoor pool to explore Wai Ola, aquatic bodywork in the evenings and we will do optional group sweats in the steam room. You will also have access to a library of movies and books on the Hawaiian Culture and plenty of time to share and enjoy each others company in an Ohana (family) style setting. Due to the regulations of the Middlewick cottages, commuting students will only be allowed to attend the daily workshop from 10am-5:30pm, and not have access to the other facilities, sorry. This class is immediately followed by an advanced retreat Thursday-Saturday and students have the option to stay on and enjoy a full 7 day retreat. The basic Course is CTha Approved for 20 CPD point postgraduate qualification. The advanced class earns 10 CPD points Advanced training. Only £675 shared room or £725 single room. There are also 4 spaces open to local students who will commute daily to class which runs 10am-5:30pm daily Friday April 23 & Saturday April 24 and includes lunch. Residential students arrive between 4-6pm Thursday April 22 and get settled in. We begin with a welcome dinner at 6:30 and circle to follow. Rooms must be vacated Saturday morning but class will run in the function room until 5:30pm.

Massage for Pregnancy
Shekinashram, Dod Lane Glastonbury No prior Lomi Lomi training required. A gentle but effective massage for the mother to be, nurturing the whole body and targeting the areas most effected by pregnancy. In this workshop students will learn massage techniques appropriate for all stages of pregnancy as well as contraindications. This class is open to Massage Therapists, Doulas and Health Care professionals who want to acquire the skills to help provide comfort to pregnant women. You will learn massage techniques on floor mats and massage tables completing a full body side-lying massage routine. Accupressure points for use in stimulating labor, self care and exercises to help prepare the body for birth will also be covered. Common complaints and contraindications for pregnancy are covered in this class. Instructor has practiced pregnancy massage for over 10 years and is a DONA certified birth doula with experience in both home and hospital births.
